Hello, welcome to our website! My name is Iva Dekker and together with my husband Marcel, two children (born in 2010 and 2012) and three Ridgebacks Cuba, Sansa and our youngest Naru we live in a small village named Standdaarbuiten, about 30 minutes from Rotterdam.

Ever since I first met a Ridgeback, I knew that this would be the breed for me. Back home when I was a child we had several Groenendaelers (Belgian Shepherds) and Marcel had been the proud owner of an Akita Inu, a Miniature Bullterier and a Standard Bullterrier before our first Ridgeback came into our lives. After doing a lot of research and visits to diffirent breeders, our first Ridgeback Yara (kennel Hiba Jorianga) came into our life in 2004. She was the perfect Ridgeback for us to start with. She basicly tought us a lot about the breed. She was very stable and relaxed but also reserved towards strangers. Nothing ever bothered her or made her scared. Besides her wonderful character she also had the looks so we decided to participate in dogshows which worked out nicely. Yara became Dutch and International Champion. Since that time you can find us regularly at dogshows.

Our kennelname 'Dharuba' was registered at De Raad van Beheer on March 20, 2012.
The meaning of 'Dharuba' is Storm in the Swahili language and Storm is also the name of our son.

It is not our goal to breed very frequently. We only breed when we researched the pedigrees involved, both on temperament, health and exterior. Just to make sure the puppies will get the best start we can possibly give them. We put a lot of time and effort in socializing the puppies. They will be raised in our home surrounded by all daily noises and they will get some extra love and care from our kids. No wonder why all Dharuba puppies love children so much!

Our main goal is to breed healthy, happy and beautiful Ridgebacks with nice character.

We are member of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Nederland (RRCN) and breed in accordance to the rules and regulations of this club.
